Mr. George W. Settle, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on June 29, 2009. He was born on February 22, 1925, in Surry County, NC, to Flurdy Jones and Carrie Lydia Ingold Settle. Mr. Settle was a well known beekeeper with 50 years of experience in the business. He was a member of the Forsyth County Beekeepers Association who attained the degree of Master Beekeeper.
Mr. Rome Pierce Spence, age 64, of 1474 Old Fulp Road, Danbury, NC, husband of Mrs. Christine Palluotto Spence, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at Stokes Reynolds Hospital in Danbury. He was born April 25, 1944 in Hillsville, VA to the late Ralph and Mazie Stuttler Spence. He was a self-employed dry wall installer and attended the King Christian Center.
Mr. Harold Lloyd Weaver, 75, of Aspen Lane, Lexington, died Saturday January 31, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. Burial will follow at Friedland Moravian Church Cemetery.
